BLUE RIDGE TURKEY TROT 5K ON THANKSGIVING DAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
November 24, Registration Opens 7 a.m., Race Begins Promptly at 8 a.m.

Light Up Blue Ridge and the Annual Blue Ridge Christmas Parade is November 26
Light Up Blue Ridge is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving!
Blue Friday is November 25, 2022
Blue Friday day will include downtown merchants store discounts, Christmas holiday cheer, food vendors and strolling entertainment. Light Up Blue Ridge day will be full of Christmas cheer, strolling Christmas entertainment, food vendors, and children will be able to visit Santa Clause in the gazebo located in the park.
Gingerbread Village will be open to the public at noon from November 25th to December 11th at the Arts Center. The Christmas Parade is on Saturday the day of Light Up Blue Ridge, it starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs down E. Main from Church Street to Mountain, down Mountain and back up W. Main to Depot. Pictures with Santa will take place in the gazebo from noon to 4:30 pm.
Blue Ridge on Ice ~ Blue Ridge Farmers Market
NOVEMBER 19, 2022 – JANUARY 9, 2023
Ice Skating opens at the Blue Ridge Farmers Market, located next door to The Swan Drive-In. Will be open beginning Saturday, November 19th at 10 a.m. and continuing through January 9th. Opening daily and will have special hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cost is $10.00 and includes skate rental. Concession stand available.
Christmas Tour of Homes
DECEMBER 4, 2022 11:00 AM –6:00 PM
Back by Popular Demand the Christmas Tour of Homes benefiting Fannin County Family Connection.
Join Fannin County Family Connection on our Christmas Tour of Homes! Ticket holders will meet at the Fannin County Family Connection Community Room for holiday refreshments between 11 am and 2 pm. Once there you will receive your maps and directions, along with credentials for entry into each of the homes. You may visit homes between 1 PM until 6 PM. All proceeds are used to fund Drug & Alcohol outreach programs and the food pantry at Family Connection.
The cost for viewing the homes on the tour is $30 per individual ticket or $50 per couple. Participants will receive a map to tour fabulous homes throughout Fannin County

Holiday Express 2022 ~ Blue Ridge Scenic Railway

Come join the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway for a festive 1-hour train ride on the Holiday Express in which you can listen to holiday music, hear the story “The Night Before Christmas,” enjoy delicious hot chocolate or other snacks available for sale inside the concession car. Children will receive a Blue Ridge Scenic Railway jingle bell, candy cane, and activity packet while on board.

Roasted Acorn Squash with Rosemary and Garlic
Ingredients
6 cups cubed acorn squash
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons rosemary
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon coarse ground pepper
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 475 degrees.
Place acorn squash cubes on a large cookie sheet with raised edges.
Drizzle olive oil over the acorn squash. Toss to coat.
Sprinkle the rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the acorn squash. Toss to coat.
Spread the acorn squash pieces out evenly over the cookie sheet. Place in the oven and cook for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the squash pieces over and cook for another 5 – 10 minutes or until the squash is fork-tender.
